My name is Mrs. Balchuck and this is my second year at Coyote Creek Elementary! I am a Colorado native, born and raised in Lakewood, CO. I started playing music when I was about 8 years old. I started on the recorder and then switched to the Irish equivalent, the tin whistle. I continued on to play the flute in band for 5 years and decided to go into choir when I got to high school. I participated in multiple choirs at Lakewood High School and that is when I decided that I wanted to be a music teacher. I have my Bachelors in Music Education from Benedictine College in Kansas and my Masters in Irish Traditional Music Performance from the World Academy of Irish Song and Dance at the University of Limerick, Ireland. While voice is my primary instrument, I also play a variety of instruments (mostly Irish). I taught music k-8 at a private Catholic school in Denver for 4 years, and have been at Trailblazer Elementary the past two years. I have played the Irish sport of hurling for the past 6 years with the Denver Gaels and just recently took up kickboxing. When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time learning new instruments, reading, and being with my family and friends.
I am so excited to be starting my third year at Coyote Creek. My two children attended CCE from Kindergarten until 6th grade and presently attend ThunderRidge High School and Colorado Mesa State University. As a family we love heading to the mountains whenever possible to kayak, raft, mountain bike, ski, hike, and camp. When hanging out in town, I also enjoy playing tennis and volleyball. I taught Physical Education in Denver Public Schools for 8 years before having children and have substituted in Douglas County for the 8 years leading up to my position at Coyote Creek.
I love teaching P.E.! My goal for your students is to come and have a fun time being physically active learning about their physical health and experiencing new and past played activities/sports. My hope is that students might discover an activity or activities that they would like to incorporate into their everyday life outside of school, something they enjoy to keep them active. In P.E. teamwork, sportsmanship and learning to support and encourage classmates is an important part of my program. The students at Coyote Creek are awesome and do an amazing job of sharing a positive attitude with one another in the gym. I am very lucky to be teaching at such a wonderful school with very caring and special students. I’m looking forward to another GREAT year!

This is my 8th year teaching art at Coyote Creek, and my 12th year of teaching. My education includes a BA from Southern Utah University, an MA in Art from the University of Northern Colorado, and a K-12 license from Colorado Mesa University in Grand Junction. I love creating and imagining in all types of art media, especially drawing, painting, clay and weaving. I also love gardening and growing flowers in the summer. In the winter, you can find me on the slopes with my snowboard!
I truly believe that we are all artists, in some way, shape or form. Teaching art means nurturing the spark in every child that inspires them to create. In the art room, students are guided through learning skills and techniques and are encouraged to apply them in projects that allow choice and expression of creativity.
I am greatly looking forward to a new school year! I love brand new art supplies, fresh back-to-school clothes, and students who are eager and ready to learn and grow for another year. I want to welcome back all of our returning families, as well as extend a warm welcome to all of our new families. I am here to ensure that your children receive a high-quality arts education at CCE, and feel safe in my classroom at all times. Please feel free to contact me at any time with questions or concerns at email@example.com.

My name is Jane Gregory, and this is my 4th year at Coyote Creek. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Minnesota, and a Masters Degree in Library Science from Southern Connecticut State University. I have lived in Colorado for over 20 years, but my heart belongs in Minnesota! I have always loved books, and have wonderful memories of stepping into the bookmobile every week to check out books as a child. I collect vintage children’s books, and have spent over 30 years trying to locate and purchase all my favorite childhood titles. My husband is also a Librarian, and my two sons are teenagers.
I hope to foster a lifelong love of reading in everyone that comes into the library at CCE. In addition to storytime, kids are able to checkout books, and engage in literacy based activities. Reading can be fun, engaging, comforting and instructional. I look forward to seeing your kids every week to share great books, ideas, dreams, and a few laughs! Please feel free to contact me with any questions, concerns, and comments. firstname.lastname@example.org
