Hi, my name is Ashley Scott-Trainer and I’m thrilled to be joining Coyote Creek and the 5th grade team this year! I’ve been lucky enough to study and teach all over the country: I graduated from both Gettysburg College and Stockton University with degrees in Elementary Education, Classical Studies & Environmental Science and have taught everything from PreK-5th grade in New Jersey, Oregon, Hawaii, and here in Colorado.

I grew up in New Jersey, where I loved playing soccer and spending time at the beach.  I went to college in Pennsylvania and then again in New Jersey while working as a school paraprofessional, a substitute, and a nature guide in the wetlands of the south Jersey shore.  I spent 3 years teaching in Oregon along the coast, 3 years teaching in Hawaii on the island of Oahu, and more than 6 years teaching here in Colorado before taking a break to be home with my kids.

I have been married to my husband for 10 years now, and we have 3 girls aged 13, 8, and 5. We have a sweet dog named Lola and live right here in Highlands Ranch.  When I’m not teaching, I am very busy with my active kiddos but I also love to read, garden, walk & hike, watercolor paint, exercise, and I’m a Formula 1 racing fan.

Hello! My name is Megan LaGuardia, and I am extremely excited to be your 5th grade teacher this year. In 2022, I graduated from Colorado State University (Go Rams!) with a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education. I also have an Elementary Education and Family and Consumer Sciences endorsement. In 2024, I completed my masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Colorado Boulder (Sko Buffs!).

I was born and raised in Highlands Ranch with a few of my years spent in Temecula, California. I graduated from Columbine High School where I learned the importance of a community
working together as a family. Being part of the Columbine community has driven my passion to become an educator. My goal as an educator is to create a loving and supportive community inside and outside of the classroom.

My husband and I are both Colorado natives and we love to go off-roading, paddle boarding, and running in our beautiful home state. Our family consists of two crazy pups, two kitties, and a 22 year old turtle!

I am looking forward to filling my third year of teaching with lots of fun memories and learning
with all of you!
