Hello sixth grade families!

I am so thrilled to start my first year at Coyote Creek and teaching 6th! I am originally from Texas where I started my teaching career teaching 3rd, then 4th grades. We moved to CO two summers ago and I began teaching 5th at Franktown Elementary. My favorite part of teaching is creating wonderful relationships with my students. I love to listen to their stories, share in their victories, be there for them when life gets tough, laugh, play, and, of course, learn together everyday.  They teach me as much as I teach them!!

I have 2 kids that will also be attending Coyote Creek: Leona (2nd) and Baird Jr (pre-k). My husband, Baird, is my biggest supporter and he loves to be involved and visit the classroom whenever possible. I’m excited to work with my new amazing teammate, Holly Lehr, and the rest of the staff at CCE.  I look forward to collaborating with all of you and cheering on our students!!

Welcome to 6th Grade!!  I am so excited to be working with this new group of 6th graders!  I am looking forward to Outdoor Ed and working with your child in Language Arts and Social Studies. This will be a year of progress and development.

I am a native of Colorado and a graduate of Cherry Creek High School. When attending Chapman University in Orange, California  I studied music education and earned a Bachelor of Music Degree.  This will be my 19th year at Coyote Creek Elementary,  and I previously taught in Littleton Public Schools. I have taught 5th and 6th grades and have even had experience with 1st and 2nd grade.  After being in the classroom and seeing how valuable technology is for our 21st Century learners, I went back to school and earned a Masters Degree in Instructional Technology and have participated in the Digital Educator and Ed Tech Academy in Douglas County Schools.

I love being a teacher and am from a family of teachers. In fact, my married name comes from the German meaning "teacher". My son is a graduate of Thunder Ridge High School and interested in science, playing his saxophone, and theater. My husband is a chemist and enjoys biking and gardening. We have lived in Highlands Ranch for 20 years and enjoy the trails and community it provides.

In my spare time, I enjoy biking, spending time with family, and being outdoor enjoying photography.  My particular interest is landscape because the beauty of our world never ceases to  amaze me.

I am so excited to be working with you and your child this year and provide experiences and opportunities to help each one build life skills and tools that will enable them to be successful at whatever they undertake.

Please contact me at hllehr@dcsdk12.org at any time.

Again, I look forward to working with you and your child to make this year the best it can be.

Hi there lovely 6th grade families! My name is Brianna Kendrick, and I am absolutely thrilled to be joining the 6th grade team at Coyote Creek for my first year as a classroom teacher. Your students may know me from my years as both a long- and short-term guest teacher, and I'm looking forward to meeting any new families joining our CCE community this year as well. My favorite part of teaching is building relationships with my students and challenging them to think more deeply about both known and unfamiliar topics. Sixth graders have so many unique and fascinating insights to share; I can't wait to hear what your students have to say.

My husband, John, and I moved to Colorado from our home state of Hawaii in 2015. We have two children at CCE: our son Tiernan (5th grade) and our daughter Skye (Kindergarten). When not shuttling them to and from activities, I love to play trumpet, piano, and my newest instrument, viola. I also practice and teach taekwondo and am working towards my 4th degree black belt. During ski season, we head up to the mountains to play in the snow and fulfill my childhood dreams of skiing more than once a year. Unfortunately, nobody told that little island girl about I-70 weekend traffic, but we make the best of it!

I look forward to meeting you and to helping your child towards a successful, insightful, and memorable 6th grade school year. Please feel free to contact me at bkendrick1@dcsdk12.org at any time if you have questions or concerns, or if you'd simply like to get in touch and say hello.

Cheers!

Ms. Kendrick
