Hello and welcome to 6th grade. I’m so excited to start another great year at Coyote Creek, and I can’t wait to meet the new students!
This will be my third year at Coyote Creek and my sixth year of teaching. I previously taught in Grand Junction, Colorado. I’ve taught third grade, fourth grade, and now sixth grade. I have to say, sixth grade has by far been my favorite grade to teach. Sixth graders are so fun, and I love the curriculum and educational discussions you can have with students at this age.
My husband and I moved to the Denver area two years ago from Grand Junction, Colorado, and we absolutely love living on the eastern side of the state! We were both born and raised in Grand Junction, and that is where I graduated from Colorado Mesa University in 2013 with a Bachelor's degree in English Literature and Writing. In 2013, I graduated with a post-graduate degree in Education. Then in 2016, I graduated with my Master's degree in Education.
When I'm not teaching, I love spending time on one of my favorite hobbies, genealogy. I help facilitate an Italian genealogy group that I am very proud of. I also try to spend as much time as I can writing, getting outdoors, and of course, shopping!
I’m looking forward to a great year of learning and fun! Please feel free to contact me at sdetton@dcsdk12.org.

Hello Students and Parents! My name is Jessica Vigil and I am so excited to be working with the Coyote Creek Elementary school 6th grade team.
This will be my third year of teaching. I spent last year teaching 6th grade at Coyote Creek, and before that I taught science at Rocky Heights Middle School.
When I am not teaching I enjoy spending time with my family enjoying the great outdoors and all that Colorado has to offer. I love to camp, run, bike and take my dog Norman for walks. I have a wonderful husband and two children ages 12 and 10.
